Guessing

My friends and family had a fun time guessing where I was going. Christian, Cesar, and Ana Paula were the closest!

The White Envelope

There is nothing more exciting than expecting something special to arrive in the mail. When I was in High School it was the College acceptance letters, when I was in college it was books I bought online, but most recently it has been a white envelope from the office of the first Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

For me, the decision to serve a mission was a long process. I have always wanted to serve but I always thought it would be when I was old and wrinkly and that I would serve with my husband but since Prince Charming never came and school was getting very monotone, I decided that I needed to take a good luck at my life and really pray for guidance as to what was needed of me. The answer came to take a Mission Preparation class. It was hard to get into one because of the recent age change but I somehow managed to get into one. I felt a bit out of place because I was 20 years old and had not yet received the inspiration to start working on my papers, however, I did get a prompting to write to some friends I had lost contact with which proved to be just what I needed.

Now almost a whole year later I have finally received the call to serve in the San Jose, California Mission and I could not be more excited! It is definitely hard to have only 4 weeks to prepare to leave everything and everyone behind for 18 months but I have no doubt in my heart that it is the right thing to do and, most importantly, it is the right time to do it.
