My district consists of 3 Elders and 4 Sisters. The ladies
are pretty loud and the Elders are very quiet. I think they are
intimidated by my companion :) My companion is Hermana Oteiza, she is
French Canadian and is also serving in CA but in a different mission.
She is hilarious and super sassy, i love her!
The schedule here is kind of weird because we have
gym in the middle of the day and class before and after but we make it
work mostly because we stopped caring how we looked.
Today we had the opportunity to go to the Temple. We had breakfast as a
district and did a session together. Afterwards the Sisters walked to
main campus to buy a few items we needed and the elders disappeared.
On Sunday we had a really cool devotional by Brother
Heaton after which we stayed to watch the Christmas devotional by Elder
Ballard. It was amazing! He talked about how the atonement could not
have been possible without the character of Christ and told a story
about a relief society president who lost her daughter in a car accident
but immediately thought of the mothers of the two other girls who were
hurt.
We are learning to teach investigators right now and
it is a lot harder than I ever thought. I am used to preparing talks
and lessons for classroom settings but this is totally different and I
am quickly learning that I am merely a tool in the Lord's hand. We only
have to prepare ourselves the best we can and let the Spirit do all of
the conversion.
Lots of love,
Hna. Quintana
